Why Lionsgate needs me as their PR-advisor

Hey dear Lionsgate people, it’s me, FyreSparks! Since the Hunger Games is now out on imdbPro (which means it slowly gets real) and there are some difficult decisions coming up for you guys, I decided to give you a few tips. You know, cause I’m such a pro when it comes to books and movies and books turned into movies. Alright, here we go!

a

The Lionsgate list to ultimate fan-happiness

Get this man! Now!

1. Do not hire Cathy Hardwicke as director. Maybe ask Peter Jackson instead cause he totally knows how to pull of stuff like that. Hello? 11 Oscars for Lord of the Rings – Return of the King alone. Do I have to say anything else?

2. Do not hire the New Moon wig department. Honestly, have you seen what they did to Jackson Rathbone aka Jasper?

3. Do hire Howard Shore or Hans Zimmer to compose the score. Cause they rule! Plus they are my all time favorites when it comes to composers for movie scores. So just call them. Please.

Do NOT get this guy though!

4. Do not hire anyone of the Twilight cast just to profit from their popularity. Cause that’s just not right. Bella can’t be Katniss and Jacob can’t be Gale and most of all, Mike Newton CANNOT be Peeta. Ever. Just saying.

5. Do not split the last book into two movies, however long it might be. I hate when there are breaks in the movies. Cause it ruins the mood. Splitting a book in two is like a 6 months long break. Not cool. I never understood why someone would do this except to gain more money in the box office. There’s a reason why Casablanca is considered a classic and cinema heirloom even though it’s like 5 hours long. Consider that!

Do NOT get this woman either! Her face is FROZEN...

6. Do not hire someone whose face is so damaged by botox that she can no longer act properly. Have you seen Nicole Kidman in The Golden Compass? I still think it’s partly her fault I didn’t like the movie even though I loved the book… Oh woman, what have you done to your once pretty face?

7. Do hire someone who is super hot aka sexiest man alive 2015 and 2016 for the roles of Peeta and Gale. Cause hot actors are bound to lure girls and women into the theaters. Plus if there are always two Bond Girls I feel like we deserve two sexy guys to look at as well!

8. Don’t forget to release an absolutely awesome first trailer at least six months before the movie premieres.

9. Don’t forget to hold back some of the best, most anticipated scenes to surprise us on the day when we will actually sit in the movie theaters to watch “The Hunger Games” for the first time.
(Concerning numbers 8 and 9 you could just say don’t do it like Summit! First they throw out like every important scene New Moon has to offer and then they don’t give us the slightest glimpse of Eclipse. Big fail!)

10. Make this movie epic and awesome and not one of that fits into the “good books – bad movies” category. Cause we need it to be good and to not suck! Kthxbye.

Any other tips I should have given Lionsgate? Do you love Howard Shore and Hans Zimmer as much as I do? Leave a comment or send me an e-mail!

Hunger Games FanArt Gallery Vol.2

Hey, I decided it’s time for a little fan art once again! Ready? Go!

I really like the drawing on the left! I know in the book Katniss has those elven-like oversize sleeves but I’m not picky. I think the drawing is pretty good. Period. But the whole thing is titled “from bride to mockingjay”, so if that one on the right is indeed Katniss in her mockingjay dress, how come it’s all green, blue and yellow then? Shouldn’t it be black and white? And wow, her hair has transformed as well… All in all thumbs up for the wedding dress pic, for the one on the right I’m not quite sure though. Or maybe you should just change the title and pretend it’s Katniss wearing a random creation of Cinna… 😉

So here another mockingjay dress pic. Now it really is a “from bride to mockingjay” post! 😉

What do you think about these pics? Any other favorites you’d like me to post? Or did you maybe make fan art of your own? Wanna send it over? Leave a comment or e-mail me!

So sad I’m so not good at drawing…

The (un)important stuff you forget

Sorry, I know I haven’t blogged here for the last couple of days. That’s because I’m currently reading The Hunger Games. Again. So I guess you can all understand that. If you can’t then what are you doing here on this blog? 😉 Just kidding. But I bet what I’m going to talk about now happened to all of you. There are always so many details that you either just don’t realize or have forgotten about by the time you finish reading a book for the first time. To me that happens always. I had to read The Lord of the Rings three times before I could really remember the scene where they are attacked by some kind of werewolves at night. Yes, I mean werewolves. And no, I’m not mixing it up with the wargs. So maybe I should make a list of things I completely got wrong or forgot about when I first read The Hunger Games and then post about it. That would be fun… For example that in my imagination Darius was like 40 years old. But yesterday I saw that Katniss describes him like that:

He’s probably in his twenties, but he doesn’t seem much older than I do.

Yeah, big fail on my side, I know… Sorry Darius for making you twice as old as you really are! So I hope I can manage to keep a few more details in my head after I’ve finished reading it again. One way or the other, I’ll let you know. Promise! 😉

What did you forget about when you read the books or the first time? Anything that shocked you or made you think “Damn, how could I not have realized this the first time”? Can’t wait to hear about it! So let me know. Even if it’s not about The Hunger Games but any other book. Cause honestly, I’m such a book nerd… 😉 Just leave a comment or e-mail me!

Heading of to finish The Hunger Games. Again…

Why is it I can’t decide this time?

This is how I picture Gale one day. And yep, I think it's kinda hot...

When it comes to books it has always been easy for me to choose which characters I liked most, which ones I hated and which ones just annoyed the crap out of me (Hello there, Bella Swan!). I loved Gandalf and Aragorn, the elves and the hobbits in Lord of the Rings. I kinda liked Snape because I always had the feeling that he had a secret and was one of the good ones deep down. I loved Dumbledore. I wanted Harry to get Ginny in the end. It wasn’t hard for me to choose between Team Edward and Team Jacob. So how come I just can’t decide if I want Katniss to end up with Peeta or with Gale? I like both! In real life I would probably rather fall for the dark Gale type but in the books… hard to say. I like that Peeta makes delicious cookies and wonderful cakes. How he tries to protect Katniss and the way they go to sleep together to keep the nightmares away.

Artificial arm anyone? Yep, check! Hot? Uhm, I don't know...

Okay, he has an artificial leg, but let’s not linger on this. Unless you think artificial legs are cool, then add it to the pro list… In the case of Gale, I love how he cares for his family. And all those hunting trips with Katniss. Plus guys with bows and stuff are kinda hot. I gotta admit my heart broke a little when he finally decided to confess his love to Katniss but it was too late. Maybe there will be something in the third book (when it finally comes out) that makes it easier for me to choose one of the two. In case there is not, I can only think of one solution: Making a pro and contra list! Cause that’s how you should make difficult decisions. Always. Trust me. Of course I could just say I like them both equally but I don’t think Katniss will be allowed to marry them both once she is older, right? Right???

So who is your favorite? And why? Do you like Peeta’s artificial leg? Or rather Gale’s snares? Or are you just like me and for some reason can’t decide? Let me know! Leave a comment or send an e-mail!

The Hunger Games FanArt Gallery Vol.1

Okay, I knew I sooner or later had to talk about this, so why not sooner? Fan art is always kind of a touchy subject. There are the people who create it and out endless effort and time into it on one hand. On the other hand we got those who completely dislike it cause they think it sucks. Badly. And to be honest, they got a point there. Most of it does suck. Badly. But then sometimes you stumble across something you actually like. So to keep this light and nice enjoy the first of a series of Fan Art Gallery posts. This time only with pictures I really kind of like!

a

a

Yep, only two. But those are my favorites of all the fan art pics I could find. I really love those! So that’s it for now.

So what do you think about fan art? Love it? Hate it? Are you by any chance one of the people who created one of those fantastic pictures or something similar? Tell me about it! Leave a comment or e-mail me!

Find the perfect Hunger Games cast on Youtube… or maybe not

As I promised in the Alex Pettyfer post, here are some of the videos about the perfect Hunger Games cast I watched on Youtube so far. There are about 150 more to go… So here we go!

Okay, if Mike Welch plays Gale I’m so NOT gonna watch this movie. Plus half of those people are too young to play anyone’s parent. Just saying.

No, Taylor Lautner should NOT play Gale. Period. He’s already Jacob so he simply can’t be Gale as well. But I love Jack Nicholson as Haymitch here. Cause in that picture he So looks like a drunkard… 😉

Okay, I guess two is enough for now. Maybe I should start a series and post a few “cast” videos every two weeks or so. What do you think? Who would be your favorite actors for a Hunger Games movie? You can leave a comment or e-mail me!

Go to Youtube to watch the rest of the 190 videos if you got nothing else to do 😉
