Belated Breaking News from the Hunger Games world

Yep, I totally missed all the fuss and now I’m one day late but I’ll blog about it nevertheless! The cover and title for the third book are out and it’s called “Mockingjay”. And while I gotta say I love the color, I don’t really like the title. It just doesn’t fit in with the other two. And it looks weird on the cover with only one word in one line right at the top… See for yourself!

So what do you think? Love it? Hate it? What about the color? And the title? And the fact that Suzanne Collins i now written in one line instead of two? Come on and let’s discuss every tiny little detail no matter how ridiculous it is. Simply because this seems to get us so much closer to actually be able to hold the book in our own hands. And because I’m really excited right now! So leave a comment or e-mail me!

Why is it I can’t decide this time?

This is how I picture Gale one day. And yep, I think it's kinda hot...

When it comes to books it has always been easy for me to choose which characters I liked most, which ones I hated and which ones just annoyed the crap out of me (Hello there, Bella Swan!). I loved Gandalf and Aragorn, the elves and the hobbits in Lord of the Rings. I kinda liked Snape because I always had the feeling that he had a secret and was one of the good ones deep down. I loved Dumbledore. I wanted Harry to get Ginny in the end. It wasn’t hard for me to choose between Team Edward and Team Jacob. So how come I just can’t decide if I want Katniss to end up with Peeta or with Gale? I like both! In real life I would probably rather fall for the dark Gale type but in the books… hard to say. I like that Peeta makes delicious cookies and wonderful cakes. How he tries to protect Katniss and the way they go to sleep together to keep the nightmares away.

Artificial arm anyone? Yep, check! Hot? Uhm, I don't know...

Okay, he has an artificial leg, but let’s not linger on this. Unless you think artificial legs are cool, then add it to the pro list… In the case of Gale, I love how he cares for his family. And all those hunting trips with Katniss. Plus guys with bows and stuff are kinda hot. I gotta admit my heart broke a little when he finally decided to confess his love to Katniss but it was too late. Maybe there will be something in the third book (when it finally comes out) that makes it easier for me to choose one of the two. In case there is not, I can only think of one solution: Making a pro and contra list! Cause that’s how you should make difficult decisions. Always. Trust me. Of course I could just say I like them both equally but I don’t think Katniss will be allowed to marry them both once she is older, right? Right???

So who is your favorite? And why? Do you like Peeta’s artificial leg? Or rather Gale’s snares? Or are you just like me and for some reason can’t decide? Let me know! Leave a comment or send an e-mail!

Less than 7 months to go until book 3 comes out!

Okay, I admit it. I messed it all up and forgot to make a special post for the 7 months until book three mark. Cause that would have been yesterday, january 24th. I apologize. To make up for it I decided the following:

I, FyreSparks, editor in charge of the wonderful The District13 Post, solemnly swear to make a special post at the upcoming marks for 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 months until the third Hunger Games book comes out. Plus a super special, uber spectacular post for the day that I’ll finally hold my own copy of it in my hands!

Hope you’re all satisfied with this vow. So watch out dear The District13 Post readers, something HUGE is coming your way! 😉

6 months and 30 days to go!

Welcome to The District13 Post – The first Hunger Games Newsletter

Okay, to be honest this is not a real newsletter. It’s merely a blog to talk about Hunger Games news, videos, thoughts… basically everything that comes to my mind an concerns Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games books. And I named it The District13 Post cause I like to pretend that it’s the newspaper from the mysterious District 13. Like The Washington Post. Only a bit less serious ifyouknowwhatimean. The reason why I decided to start this blog? I read the books and I loved them. I was completely captivated. But since we have to wait more than half a year for the third book to be published, I tried to get my “fix” online. Wanna know what I found? Uhm, not that much to be honest… There are thousands of Twilight-blogs but only about twenty sites dedicated to the Hunger Games? Seriously? don’t get me wrong, I’m not hating on the Twi-blogs here as I may or may not read some of them frequently. I just couldn’t understand why there are so few Hunger Games blogs. Guess the number will explode as soon as the movie comes out though. Cause we know there will be a movie sooner or later. And I hope that it will not suck… Keep your fingers crossed! In the meantime I try to post something new here maybe not every single day but as often as I can manage. You know, I still got a real life and stuff… 😉

So let’s get it started

Yep, I wrote fire with a “y”. No, it’s no accident, I did this on purpose. Cause I like it better that way plus it’s my blog and I’m kind of the editor in charge, so I can make the rules here 😉 Might take me a few days to get the blog completely set up and to make it all look nice and stuff, sorry! I’ll hurry, promise! Meanwhile, why don’t you just leave a comment?
