Peeta with a six-pack? Uhm, yes please!
This is my first real post here (I don’t count “Welcome to The District13 Post” cause that was merely an introduction). So when I had finished the books and read that Lionsgate wanted to turn the Hunger Games into a movie, I headed over to Youtube and watched thirty-four a few of the “my favorite cast for the Hunger Games” videos. And what really stunned me was the fact that EVERYONE chose Alex Pettyfer as Peeta. To be honest, I looked him up on IMBD cause I didn’t really know who he was. Yeah, sorry. So what is it about him that makes him everybody’s Peeta?
Dude, what happened to your nose?
Okay, he’s blonde. And yes, there are definitely pics of him where he looks hot (Damn that guy has abs!). Only thing that confused me: Uhm, can anyone tell me what happened to his nose? Cause in my mind Peeta did NOT have a broken nose that healed badly. I mean, Alex’ nose looks kind of crooked here… So what happened? Either it’s just the light or Alex had indeed a broken nose. Whatever, if he keeps looking hot like that I might consider him as my personal Peeta as well. We can still pretend there had been an accident in the bakery or that his mother slapped him in the face so hard after he had given the bread to Katniss that his nose got damaged. Don’t worry Alex, if we really want you as the boy with the bread we’ll find an excuse for that. Promise.

I don’t know, I thought he’d be an amazing Peeta, but now I don’t know.
Ok I am SO looking forward to this movie coming out. These books are AMAZING! And when I found out ALEX PETTYFER was in it as Peeta (my FAVE character), I was completely ecstatic. Dude that guy as some pics that are beyond hot. But some….. YIKES! lol. Still can’t wait for the movie!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought of alex pettyfer as soon as peeta was described in the book…but now i wonder if he is too old to look 16…i only remember him from movies he did awhile back now.
Yeah, that’s what I thought too! He is looks way too old! It’s just the other way round with Sterling Knight though. I though he looks way too young. Then I found out he is already 21… WTF? He looks like 15! ^^

I’m pretty sure theres nothing wrong with his nose, i just went to I am Number four, and his nose looked fine in every scene. I think its just that one bad picture of his nose. I mean, It doesnt look like that in ANY other picture, so i wouldnt even be bothered by it.
Oh my god, I love alex pettyfer and the hunger games! I actually never considered him to be peeta. hes not perfect for the part, I always thought he was definitely my Jace Wayland from Cassandra Clares ‘the mortal instruments’ trilogy. But hes definitely hot and i could go for it. as for his nose… thats the first pic ive seen of it like that – maybe it was broken 🙂

Alex Pettyfer was on the cover of a magazine I’ve had for about four years now. At the time I got it I thought he was cute in a 12-year old girl way, so I kept the magazine in one of my drawers. When I read the Hunger Games I remembered the picture of the cute boy (I did not know his name then) and he became Peeta in my mind. When i just read this I was thrilled to see that Alex Pettyfer is now in the running to be Peeta! He is absolutely perfect for the role, and if he was cast it would make the movie for me. Having your own book images match up with a movie is not something that happens often and I’m still amazed to find out after all this time that he is being considered.
Alex Pettyfer is the perfect Peeta, who is by far my favourite character in this series. Yes to Alex for Peeta!!
Haha, how funny! Love your little Alex story! And I know what you mean. I hate when they turn favorite books of mine into movies and the characters look NOTHING like I pictured them in my head. So let’s hope we get some good choices for the Hunger Games! 😉

I think he would be an awesome peeta if he was only younger. His voice sounds a bit to deep for a 16 year old. I either want Alex Pettyfer or Alex Watson to play Peeta. Just NO Lucas Till or Sterling knight!! Sterlings to young and to wimpy. Lucas’s voice bugs me so much. way to deep.

I could see Alex as Peeta for sure! If they cast Sterling Knight I will die, he looks way too young! I agree about Johnny Depp being a possible Haymitch, that or Hugh Laurie. I think either one of them would pull off the character well. I heard talk of Kristen Chenworth being considered for Effie, has anyone else heard this? Would you agree?
PS- Is that picture in there for Prim really Abigail Breslin? She looks nothing like her in that picture.

okay! i have a kid at my school who is EXACTLY how i pictured Peeta. i showed my friend who moved without meeting him-and of course has read the books- his picture and she wrote me a message and was like, ‘omg that is how i pictured peeta!!!’ haha it was funny so yeah. this doesnt relate but i thought id share. i do like alex as peeta but he is not the absolute BEST choice for the role

Since Alex Pettyfer is a little to macho and I’ve always imagined Peeta to be kinda petite, so I my Peeta Mellark is Mitch Hewer…
Also I don’t know why everyone keep using Kaya as Katniss, they’re not similliar in any way.

I love Alex Pettyfer. He’s an amazing actor, and if he doesn’t get cast as Peeta , I’ll be reaaaaalllllly upset because hes amazingly perfect and practically no one else can play him. I know other people know other people that should play Peeta but SERIOUSLY.

Alex is soooooooooooooooo hot! i love him! i kinda imagened looking like him but a little bit softer. but the look in his eyes are perfect thats how i thought he would look at katniss like that. hes perfect in some ways. he could be peeta if he shaves cause i know in alot of pictures he has not shaved his face then he looks like 28!

Honestly, I think people need to consider acting ability and acting style when choosing ideal cast. Not just who looks like the characters. Alex would be an OK Peeta, but I’m not sure he’s perfect for the role. Plus, as I read in other comments, he looks/is too old for the role. He is John in I Am Number Four, and is too old for that role as well, definitely doesn’t look 15/16.
I didn’t even notice his nose until you said something.. he looks the part and i think he’s a good actor. I wouldn’t let something as dumb has a broken nose ruin his chance at playing an big role

I’m one of those people that can’t visualize book characters in actor form…. But I guess he could be okay. I actually hope its some no-name actor that looks like Peeta, though. So that its not a huge hit. I really dislike it ehen all these people who’ve never read the books become obssesed with the movies and ruin them for a bunch of others. Lol I sound crancky…. But I love Peeta, no actor could do him justice!!!

I have always pictured Chord Overstreet as Peeta for some reason. He looks much gentler and friendlier, more Peeta-esque.
